About The Position

The Threat Systems Development Branch of Leidos Defense Sensors is seeking a talented Software Architecture Lead to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Branch is a group of engineers who specialize in foreign threat radar systems, RF software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulators, and open-air radar development. The candidate selected for this position will support projects for the Defense Intelligence Community, Air Force, and large prime contractors.

Requirements

  • 8+ years relevant experience with a related BS degree or an MS in a related field with 6+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience managing software processes and working within a lab environment.
  • Experience with customer/stakeholder interaction and technical meetings.
  • Expertise with C++ coding and both Windows and LINUX operating systems and programming.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) Secret clearance.
  • Experience leading programs/projects and small teams of software developers/engineers.
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the area.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a section manager/lead responsible for personnel management, including regular communication with direct reports, monitoring and approving timesheets, and conducting annual performance appraisals.
  • Develop C++ simulations of radar and missile systems in both software-based and hardware-in-the-loop configurations in a variety of environments including Windows, Linux, and hard real-time operating systems.
  • Develop C# or LAN web-based custom graphical user-interface tools to support simulation control and real-time visualization of simulation results.
  • Integrate simulations into customer software environments through software interface development and plugin development.
  • Create deployable professional software deliveries with supporting documentation including version descriptions, test results, and robust installation tools.
  • Develop continuous build and test toolsets to perform automated release candidate generation and verification.
  • Collaborate with external customers to elicit requirements and define project goals.
