About The Position

AttainX is seeking a Software and Database Developer IV to maintain and enhance OBP mission applications and their cloud integrations. This role performs corrective, preventive, and perfective software maintenance while supporting secure releases and continuous modernization.

Requirements

  • At least seven (7) years of related software development experience, including full-stack application development and application maintenance.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting front-end, back-end, API, and database components using languages and frameworks appropriate to the supported platform.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted applications, SaaS integrations, SQL, version control, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Knowledge of secure coding, automated testing, vulnerability remediation, release management, and configuration controls.
  • Ability to investigate production defects, assess change impacts, maintain technical documentation, and collaborate with operations and security teams.
  • Ability to satisfy required Government background investigation, system access, nondisclosure, and sensitive-information protection requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Developer - Associate or a comparable cloud development certification relevant to the supported environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective, preventive, and perfective application maintenance across front-end, back-end, integration, and database components.
  • Troubleshoot production defects and legacy integration failures; implement emergency fixes and coordinated corrective actions.
  • Develop and deploy approved upgrades, enhancements, security updates, and application modifications.
  • Remediate critical and high software vulnerabilities within timelines prescribed by CISA security guidance and policies.
  • Use secure coding, automated testing, and approved CI/CD workflows to validate changes and support reliable releases.
  • Maintain configuration records and software baselines; ensure application software aligns with DHS Technology Reference Model approvals.
  • Monitor application services, investigate performance issues, and optimize application behavior and cloud resource use for changing demand.
  • Support Authority to Operate documentation, monthly scan remediation, data protection, and configuration management quality assurance.
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, concepts of operations, change histories, and operational knowledge repositories.
  • Coordinate deployments, alerting, service-level expectations, incident resolution, and user-support knowledge transfer with the CISA Technology Operations Center; support approved changes outside normal hours.
