A Software Administrator III works primarily independently in the management and support administration for assigned software while contributing to moderately complex project work. This role ensures system reliability, security, and performance, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance technical solutions. Best aligned to those supporting division/large department-wide access management, LMS/Exam Software, or database software. Administer and maintain the electronic access control and security credentialing system, including user records, access levels, door groups, schedules, and system configurations. Manage employee and student access credentials, including issuing, modifying, deactivating, printing, and distributing access cards in accordance with established authorization procedures. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain physical security equipment, including access control panels, controllers, I/O boards, card readers, electronic locking hardware, and related field devices. Support and maintain video surveillance systems, including cameras, recording equipment, and associated security technology. Perform system troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to identify and resolve hardware, software, communication, and connectivity issues affecting security systems. Evaluate and implement system updates, including software upgrades, patches, firmware updates, controller revisions, and configuration changes. Support security system installations, expansions, and modifications for new construction, renovations, equipment replacements, and departmental security needs. Monitor system and equipment performance and proactively identify equipment failures, vulnerabilities, and end-of-life replacement needs.
