Softball Coach – Mets Camps (College Softball Players Encouraged to Apply) | Brooklyn, NY-August 17-21
About The Position
Mets Baseball & Softball Camps is hiring enthusiastic Softball Coaches for our summer camp sessions in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. We are looking for current and former softball players, collegiate softball athletes, travel ball coaches, high school softball players, and softball instructors who want to share their passion for the game while making a positive impact on young athletes. This position is located in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY, and runs from August 17-21, 2026, with approximately 8-hour camp days, Monday-Friday. The compensation is $17.00-$23/hour depending on experience. This role offers the opportunity to get paid to coach the sport you love, work outdoors, and inspire the next generation of softball players.
Requirements
- Softball playing experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work outdoors and stay active throughout the day
- Reliable transportation to Prospect Park
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Experience coaching, instructing, or mentoring youth is a plus
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Responsibilities
- Teach softball fundamentals including hitting, throwing, fielding, and base running
- Lead drills, games, and skill-development activities
- Work with campers ages 4–13
- Create a fun, energetic, and positive camp environment
- Encourage confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Serve as a positive role model for young athletes
- Support daily camp operations and activities
