About The Position

Under the supervision of the Softball Director and Parks and Recreation Department, the Assistant Softball Director assists with the organization, instruction, and supervision of the Fall Softball Clinic. The Assistant Director helps create a positive and safe environment while supporting participants in developing softball skills and sportsmanship.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must have, or be willing to update/obtain, CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Softball coaching and/or instructional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Softball Director with planning and implementing clinic activities, drills, and instruction.
  • Provides direct coaching and instruction in softball fundamentals, including throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, and base running.
  • Demonstrates drills and assist with participant skill development.
  • Helps supervise participants and ensures a safe, positive, and inclusive environment.
  • Promotes teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship.
  • Assists with equipment setup before each session and cleanup afterward.
  • Maintains familiarity with participant emergency information and assists in responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Follows all Town and Parks and Recreation Department policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Softball Director or Parks and Recreation Department.
