About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Soft Services Manager who will be fully responsible for the overall operation of vendors completing custodial services, landscaping, pest control, snow removal, and other related services. The Soft Services Manager will collaborate with other managers to ensure efficient utilization and accountability for space and facilities, considering needs, space limitations, and cost. Facility services include new construction, remodeling, building maintenance, and rearrangement, with a focus on compliance with all applicable codes, rules, regulations, laws, and Company standards. The role requires knowledge of cost estimating, planning, and scheduling techniques.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or related field.
At least five years of progressive supervisory experience in managing contracts for maintenance, operation, or construction services for facilities, utilities or infrastructure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites with emphasis on the ability to navigate and formulate within Excel and Access.
General working knowledge of industrial facility maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Experience utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Good communications and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
Ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
Ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs as needed during a workday.
Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, kneel, reach/stretch, and move in a 90-degree fashion during workday.
Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
Ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
Ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
Ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Must be willing to work overtime when required.
May be required to work holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

Develops plans and programs in response to present and anticipated space and facility requirements.
Prioritizes work based on the needs of the client and for the on-time completion of all work, as well as all documentation involved.
Ensures all subcontractors receive required training to perform the subcontracted services in accordance will all Amentum and client safety rules, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Scheduling, planning, documentation, performance and reporting with Amentum management team and client.
Ensures soft services are run efficiently, maintains good customer relationships, and aims to exceed the customers’ expectations.
Coordinates final approval of facility designs.
Formulates operating rules, regulations, and procedures.
Inspects plant facilities or reviews inspection reports, to determine repairs, replacement, or improvements required.
Clearly understands Amentum scope of work and contract requirements for the area of responsibility.
Supports Amentum management as the designated Amentum agent for all soft services discussions and negotiations with client.
Compiles, maintains, and presents various reports to Amentum management and client teams.
Coordinates activities of personnel involved in repair and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment to minimize interruption and improve efficiency.
Prepares related reports and audits current procedures to monitor efficiency of operations.
Evaluates proposals and bids for various design, contracting, and follow-on services as required.
Recommends bid acceptance.
Reviews reports of expenditures for previous year and proposed improvements on facilities in order to prepare budget estimates for upcoming year.
Ensures employee conformance to established practices and proper training of staff.
Responsible for hiring, employee motivation, and counseling of employees supervised.
May assist in the design and development of new facilities.
Responsible for the enforcement of company security/safety policies and procedures.
May be responsible for the direction of security personnel and programs at company office facility.
Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Oversees day-to-day soft services operations of client’s buildings and facilities.
Influences, develops and controls budget, costs, staff and vendors by planning, scheduling, implementing processes and drafting procedures.
