About The Position

The Soft-line Processing Team Member helps Salt & Light fulfill its mission by providing outstanding customer service to customers, donors, volunteers, and staff. Reporting to the Receiving and Processing Manager and Receiving and Processing Assistant Manager, this role supports a safe, welcoming, clean, and productive processing area. The position processes soft-line goods to quality standards and helps meet processing goals for all Salt & Light locations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, is a motivated self-starter, and can multitask and prioritize while providing excellent service.

Requirements

Work well with a diverse group of staff, customers, and volunteers.
Be a self-starter and solution-focused.
Work efficiently both as part of a team and independently.
Learn the organization’s clothing process.
Identify name-brand clothing, shoes, and purses.
Demonstrate attention to detail.
Provide instruction and leadership to volunteers.
Communicate with volunteers and team members.
Bend and lift merchandise from carts and gaylords.
Lift 50 pounds or more with assistance.

Greet volunteers warmly and contribute to a friendly working environment.
Keep the processing area clean and safe.
Process soft-line items efficiently and ensure the quality of goods.
Meet processing goals for Salt & Light locations.
Assist volunteers and team members with questions and needs.
Sort and identify high-value clothing, shoes, purses, and linens.
Learn and implement the five clothing-process functions.
Teach volunteers how to complete tasks and follow up with them.
Clock in and out for shifts appropriately and complete documentation properly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
