About The Position
The Department of Sociology at McGill University is seeking eligible candidates to serve as Teaching Assistants for the Fall 2026 term. This role is open to students registered in a McGill MA or PhD graduate program for the Fall 2026 term. Teaching Assistants will be required to perform their duties on campus and attend all lectures in person. Please note that postings are tentative and depend on the final determination of course offerings and enrolments. Some courses may not require a TA due to insufficient enrolment.
Requirements
- Must be a McGill graduate student registered in an MA or PhD program for the Fall 2026 term
- Must possess an appropriate academic background
- Must have previous study in the subject of the course
Responsibilities
- Hosting and facilitating discussions on Zoom with small groups of students
- Grading of exams and term papers
- Attending lectures and reading course materials
- Communication with students regarding MyCourses, submission of assignments, etc.
