About The Position

Metropolitan Behavioral Health, a UHS facility, is a 144-bed behavioral health facility providing inpatient services for adolescents, adults, and older adults, along with behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. It also offers programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues and outpatient group, family, and individual therapy.

The Social Worker performs social services functions to help patients meet their biopsychosocial needs and access therapeutic treatment skills to achieve optimal emotional health. The role includes basic consultation and teaching, specialized clinical social work services for patients and families, crisis intervention, short- and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed. This full-time position includes weekend and holiday coverage.

Requirements

• Master of Social Work (MSW).
• LMSW license, or an experienced LLMSW may be considered.
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience in a psychiatric health care facility.
• Direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
• Strong clinical assessment skills.
• A combination of education, licensure, experience, and/or student internship hours may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs and accessing therapeutic treatment skills to support optimal emotional health.
• Provide basic consultation and teaching.
• Provide specialized clinical social work services for patients and families receiving care.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Provide short-term and long-term family therapy.
• Provide information and referrals as needed.
