Social Worker Masters
About The Position
Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker MSW provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides program consultation, evaluation of clinical interventions, preceptor students in formal clinical practicum and provides professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- 1 year recognized postgraduate experience in community MHAS
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)

- Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
- Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Knowledge in community resources and services in the clinical area
- Knowledge of Health Information Protection Act and other legislation.
- Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty.
- Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy
- Experience in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions
- Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
- Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
- Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure
- Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships/partnerships
- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to work independently
