Intensive Outpatient Program Social Worker-Part Time
About The Position
Freedom Behavioral IOP in Magnolia, Mississippi, is seeking a therapist for its structured, expanding Intensive Outpatient Program. The role provides therapeutic services to patients enrolled in the Geriatric Intensive Outpatient Program, supporting older adults’ mental and emotional well-being through structured interventions in an outpatient setting. The therapist conducts group, individual, and family therapy; completes assessments; develops individualized treatment plans; and maintains documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards. Group sessions serve up to 10 patients, with three one-hour sessions per day. Patients arrive at 8:30 AM, and groups begin at 9:00 AM. The position works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and may require flexible hours depending on program needs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Current state licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of age-specific issues, therapeutic modalities, and community resources for older adults.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate evidence-based group therapy for geriatric patients addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, and adjustment disorders.
- Provide individual and family counseling as indicated in treatment plans.
- Complete psychosocial assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the care team.
- Document services in the electronic health record accurately and promptly, complying with facility policies, state regulations, and payer requirements.
- Participate in daily or weekly treatment team meetings and provide updates on patient progress and recommendations.
- Coordinate care with internal staff and external providers, including primary care providers, specialists, and community agencies.
- Assist with discharge planning, referrals, and follow-up services as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as appropriate.
- Support program quality improvement and compliance efforts.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of practice.
