About The Position

In accordance with the vision, mission and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the policies and procedures relating to Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Social Worker (BSW) is responsible for the provision of community based mental health counseling services to clients within the Mental Health Adult and/or Child and Youth Mental Health Programs. The position is also accountable for the provision of public education, mental health promotion, consultations and advocacy aimed at supporting individuals wishing to improve their quality of health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Broad clinical skills in group and individual interventions
  • Skilled in Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness practices
  • Ability to provide public presentation and professional training.
  • Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity
  • Knowledgeable in treatments across a wide clinical spectrum
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Knowledge in community development
  • Knowledge in mental health assessment systems
  • Knowledge in psychological assessment and treatment methods and tools
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of HIPA
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge in adult treatment and intervention techniques
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

  • Experience in case management is an asset
  • Experience in mental health & addictions is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provision of community based mental health counseling services to clients within the Mental Health Adult and/or Child and Youth Mental Health Programs.
