About The Position

As a member of Mental Health Services, the Social Worker is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include screening, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation, preparation of reports, data collection and client, family and public education. Requirements

  • 1 year experience in the area of mental health and addiction services
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
  • Basic - Computer skills
  • Basic - Interpersonal skills
  • Basic - Assessment skills
  • Basic - Organizational skills
  • Basic - Counseling skills
  • Coordination skills
  • Knowledge in appropriate systems theory and interventions
  • Knowledge in mental health and mental illness across life cycle
  • Willingness to learn about a variety of assessment tools
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge in applicable health promotion and health prevention initiatives
  • Knowledge in mental health/mental illness impact on client, family and community
  • Knowledge in health promotion and prevention strategies
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge in applicable policies, procedures and standards
  • Willingness to take CPR and PART
  • Initiative & judgment
  • Knowledge of mental health and mental illness issues in a variety of settings
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
