About The Position

This role involves performing clinical services within a school-based setting. The responsibilities include conducting intakes, providing various therapy techniques such as individual, group, and family therapy, expressive therapy, crisis intervention, psychodrama, and modeling. The position requires maintaining and completing service documentation, including psychosocial assessments, case notes, case reviews, court reports, and letters. The therapist will conduct case reviews to determine and plan future treatment based on client progress and professional opinion. Collaboration with external agents like CHR, school officials, family members, and other health agencies is essential for discussing organizational programs and client needs. The role also involves attending and participating in staff meetings, treatment planning meetings, case conferences, and clinical seminars, contributing information on program administration and development. Additionally, the therapist will write correspondence for clients and their families, conduct case presentations, and formulate clinical diagnoses for mental health and substance abuse, followed by the creation of clinical treatment plans.

Requirements

• Master's degree in the social services field with certification or licensure in the area of specialization (e.g., LPCC, LMFT, LPAT)
• Six to nine months of practicum experience
• Knowledge of mental and physical characteristics of applicable population (e.g., growth and development and range of treatment needed), psychotherapy, human behavior, related issues, community resources, and SCS’s services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation for frequent travel between work sites

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical services, including intakes and a variety of therapy programs and techniques such as group, individual, and family therapy, expressive therapy, crisis intervention, psychodrama and modeling.
• Maintains and completes service documentation such as psychosocial assessments, case notes, case reviews, court reports, letters, etc.
• Conducts case reviews and determines current and future treatment and treatment planning based upon resulting quantitative results and professional opinion of client progress.
• Collaborates with external agents including CHR, school officials, family members, and other health agencies regarding organizational programs and client needs and conditions.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, treatment planning meetings, case conferences, and clinical seminars providing information relating to program administration and development.
• Writes correspondence on behalf of clients and their families such as court reports, letters of recommendation, etc.
• Conducts case presentations and consultations with other agencies regarding programs and services offered.
• Formulates clinical diagnosis for both mental health and substance abuse.
• Formulates a clinical treatment plan to be followed for interventions.
