About The Position

The Social Worker-MSW, Children's Hospital, works under the direction of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is a key member of the physician-directed healthcare team. Professionally applies social work methodology and theory to practice by providing support for patients and families who are affected by illness and/or injury, loss, grief, victimization, change in life-style, or other situation that may impair their ability to function optimally. Performs individualized and culturally sensitive comprehensive psychosocial assessments, and develops and implements interventions, treatment strategies, and discharge plans based on assessment findings. Participates in weekend/holiday coverage and on-call rotation as requested. Provides coverage for other departments when requested, e.g., peds/adults/clinics/ emergency department. Able to communicate fluently in English and Spanish is highly preferred. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in social work required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two years of experience in acute care or clinic setting preferred
  • Able to communicate fluently in Spanish
