Requirements

  • A Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
  • Current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW) is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Current Massachusetts Social Work license is required.
  • LICSW required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic medical record documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the general supervision and direction of the Director, Medical Oncology or designee, provide clinical social work services to patients and families assisting to remove barriers to care by providing interventions/referrals for financial and transportation issues.
  • Provide case management services independently including but not limited to application of clinical diagnostic, assessment or treatment knowledge or skills.
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments and provide behavior health treatment including individual and family psychotherapy utilizing brief treatment modalities.
  • Provide age specific assessments of psychological and social functioning including determining various psychiatric diagnoses according to current DSM criteria and establishing intervention plans to address the identified issue.
  • Screen and evaluate patients and their families for psychological distress during diagnosis and disease progression.
