The Social Work department provides emotional support and counseling to children and their families. They provide crisis intervention services, help with adjustment issues, grief and loss counseling, mental health assessments, case coordination, community advocate support, and short-term therapeutic interventions.

Requirements

Master's degree in social work required.
Experience providing crisis intervention.
Two years experience with counseling in a health care related setting or two years experience in a pediatric related setting or completion of graduate internship in either of the above settings.
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to provide good, clear documentation of work.
Minnesota State LGSW, LICSW preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide care and service in our Cancer and Blood Disorders Clinic.
Follow patients who are hospitalized, through their journey of care.
Provide clinical support to patients and families during a new diagnosis, and as they navigate health systems.
Provide emotional support and counseling to children and their families.
Provide crisis intervention services.
Help with adjustment issues.
Provide grief and loss counseling.
Conduct mental health assessments.
Provide case coordination.
Offer community advocate support.
Provide short-term therapeutic interventions.
