About The Position

Social Work Services at the Mount Sinai Hospital provides comprehensive social work services and programming to meet the needs of diverse populations. The Department of Social Work Services is one of the oldest hospital social work departments in the nation. Employment in this department provides a pathway to LCSW licensure and access to continuing education and professional development. The Student and Trainee Mental Health (STMH) Service provides clinical services to Mount Sinai students and trainees, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This is a full-time, outpatient position with a mix of on-site and remote work (3 days on-site, 2 remote). The role requires providing evening hours up to 2 days a week. The social worker will offer care coordination, case management, mental health evaluations and triage, and short-term psychotherapy for adult students and trainees. Therapy will be delivered on-site and via telehealth, with documentation in Epic.

Requirements

NYS LCSW
Experience providing mental health assessment and treatment with adults required
Experience with CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based therapy modalities
Excellent clinical, collaborative, and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups
Excellent writing skills
Ability to manage responsibilities of timely documentation in an electronic health record

Nice To Haves

Experience working with specialized populations – such as individuals with substance use-related problems, individuals with a history of trauma
Experience working with the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities
