Social Work Services at the Mount Sinai Hospital is a comprehensive department within a 1,134-bed facility that offers extensive outpatient and specialty care. Social Workers collaborate within interprofessional teams to serve patients and the community through direct care and prevention. The Department of Social Work Services, founded in 1907, is one of the oldest in the nation with over 450 licensed social workers across more than 65 program/service areas. The Student and Trainee Mental Health (STMH) Service provides clinical services to Mount Sinai students and trainees, working as part of a multidisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Social Workers.
