About The Position

Social Work Services at the Mount Sinai Hospital is a comprehensive department that emphasizes the physical, emotional, and social needs of each patient. Social Workers collaborate within interprofessional teams to serve patients and the larger community. The Student and Trainee Mental Health (STMH) Service at Mount Sinai provides clinical services to the diverse population of Mount Sinai students and trainees. The social worker in this position is part of a multidisciplinary team at STMH that includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Social Workers.

Requirements

NYS LCSW.
Experience providing mental health assessment and treatment with adults required.
Experience with CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based therapy modalities.
Excellent clinical, collaborative, and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups.
Excellent writing skills and ability to manage responsibilities of timely documentation in an electronic health record.
Minimum one year in current position (internal applicants).

Nice To Haves

Experience working with specialized populations – such as individuals with substance use-related problems, individuals with a history of trauma.
Experience working with the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.

Responsibilities

Provide care coordination and case management services (including maintaining up-to-date referral sources for community and specialized treatment).
Perform mental health evaluations and triage.
Provide short-term psychotherapy for adult students and trainees.
Provide therapy both on-site and via telehealth.
Document in Epic.
Provide evening hours, up to 2 days a week.
