About The Position
At Montclair Hospital Medical Center, the Social Worker I joins a team committed to quality, compassion, and community. The hospital is a 106-bed acute care, not-for-profit community hospital and a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation. The Social Worker I provides emotional support, crisis intervention, counseling, information and referrals, and referrals for financial assistance and supportive services to patients and families dealing with issues related to hospitalization, illness, disability, or trauma. The role also provides case management and milieu management, collects data on psychosocial aspects of patient care, assists with treatment-plan reevaluation, and works as part of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate discharge planning. The Social Worker I completes required documentation and maintains a clinical record for each client throughout their stay.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or another related field, or a master’s degree in Psychology.
- Current registration as an intern with a Board, as appropriate to education and licensing requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or a related field.
- At least one year of inpatient or outpatient behavioral health experience.
Responsibilities
