About The Position

This is a 12-month contract position for a Social Worker specializing in Holocaust Survivor Services, requiring Russian language fluency. The role involves providing comprehensive support to Holocaust survivors and their families, including assessment, case management, crisis intervention, and supportive counseling, utilizing trauma-informed care and geriatric social work practices. Requirements

Masters of Social Work (MSW) or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or equivalent required.
Minimum 3 years of experience working with seniors and their families.
OCSWSSW membership in good standing.
Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
Fluency in Russian is required

Nice To Haves

Experience with trauma survivors, especially Holocaust survivors, preferred.
Knowledge of Jewish history, culture, and community resources is a strong asset.
Hebrew, Polish, or Yiddish is an asset.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment, case management, crisis intervention and supportive counselling to Holocaust survivors and their families using trauma-informed care and geriatric social worker practices
Assess changing client needs and develop tailored interventions.
Assist clients in accessing government programs, healthcare and community services
Develop case plans and assist in applying for restitution claims, working with relevant agencies like the Claims Conference.
Conduct intake assessments, eligibility interviews and program applications
Maintain knowledge of specialized services for Holocaust survivors, including HSEAP, Restitution programs, and Café Europa.
Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with the Agency and Claims Conference guidelines.
Assist in mentoring and support cross-organizational efforts.
Advocate for client access to services and represent the Agency's mission and values.
Participate in research and evaluation programs related to Holocaust Survivor services.
Perform other duties as assigned
