About The Position

The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is recruiting a Social Worker 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies in Adult Protective Services (APS) and Home & Community Based Services (HBCS). The APS recruitment is to underfill a Social Worker 3 position; advancement may occur after the employee meets minimum qualifications, demonstrates satisfactory performance, and receives endorsement from the appointing authority. HBCS social workers coordinate services for at-risk older adults and people with disabilities to support community living and prevent institutionalization. APS social workers investigate reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation, isolation, and abandonment involving vulnerable adults. Both program areas provide case management to identify needs, coordinate and monitor services, and support client safety and well-being. ADSD promotes an inclusive, diverse work environment focused on innovation, teamwork, and collaboration. Its mission is to empower people and their support systems by connecting Nevadans to aging and disability resources and services. Under limited supervision, this journey-level role performs the full range of social work duties. Social workers serve clients with a range of needs and may specialize in one service area or work as generalists, depending on community and agency needs. The recruitment may close without further notice depending on application volume.
