About The Position

The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is recruiting a Social Worker 2 in Reno, Nevada. The recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies in Adult Protective Services (APS) and Home & Community Based Services – Supportive Services (HBCS), and may close without further notice depending on application volume. APS social workers investigate reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation, isolation, and abandonment involving vulnerable adults. They initiate cases promptly, conduct home visits and assessments, evaluate risk, review records, identify service needs, make referrals, determine outcomes under applicable regulations, and close cases after investigation and intervention to support client safety. Social workers provide case management to children, families, vulnerable adults, and other individuals in local communities and institutions. Case management identifies individual needs and locates, coordinates, and monitors social, habilitative, and medical services intended to meet those needs. Assignments may focus on one service area or cover multiple areas according to community and agency needs. Under limited supervision, this journey-level position performs the full range of duties described in the social work series.
