These programs provide short term, stabilization services for children and adolescents experiencing acute mental health concerns. These intensive services are designed to address mental health symptoms that pose a safety risk or significant impact to the child or adolescent's daily functioning. MSW interns will practice providing individual, family and group therapy as well as discharge planning, diagnosis and assessment and treatment planning. MSW interns will also learn important elements of working in a short-term crisis stabilization program such as de-escalation techniques and safety planning. Interns will also participate in treatment team rounds and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to support the treatment planning process. Weekly individual supervision will be provided and MSW interns will have the opportunity attend an additional supervision group with other current MSW interns within Children's Minnesota.
