About the role Most people think AI is coming for their job. We think it's coming for the boring parts of it. Our social media team acts as an owned media arm for Synthesia. We’re looking to add an experienced video editor to help us stand out in the feed. We need someone with taste and isn’t afraid to break the B2B format. You will work alongside a talented social team creating social first videos for LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and beyond. You’ll play a key role in shaping how Synthesia shows up on social, from skits, product drops, and launch teasers to everyday social media campaigns.

Requirements

  • Video editing portfolio that stands out.
  • Understanding of video formats and ability to bring personal taste while working within brand guidelines.
  • Proficiency in shooting video content with a unique point of view.
  • Comfortable shooting with creators, the founder, and internal spokespeople.
  • Ability to direct, stovepipe, and make subjects feel natural on camera.
  • Experience editing for organic social media.
  • Understanding that the first 3 seconds of a video are crucial.
  • Knowledge of how different platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts require different editing approaches.
  • Basic motion design skills (After Effects, Figma, etc.).
  • Ability to add movement to videos without making them look like stock footage.
  • Ability to generate creative ideas and suggest improvements.
  • Familiarity with platforms like TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and Reels.
  • Ability to identify when content is not working and communicate it effectively.
  • Self-starter mentality, requiring minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using GenAI tools (e.g: Google Veo3, Pika, etc.).
  • Design skills.
  • B2B or SaaS experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create social-first videos for platforms like LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Shape Synthesia's social media presence through skits, product drops, launch teasers, and ongoing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with a talented social team.
  • Bring unique taste and creativity to video editing, while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Shoot video content, directing and making subjects feel natural on camera.
  • Add movement and visual interest to videos using motion design basics.
  • Suggest creative ideas for video content, including alternative openings and standalone clips.
  • Understand and adapt editing styles for different social media platforms (TikTok vs. YouTube Shorts).
  • Contribute to the direction of video content, rather than just taking orders.
