About The Position

At Wild Birds Unlimited (WBU), our mission is to bring people and nature together by providing high-quality wildlife products that bring joy to backyards across North America. We are seeking a creative, self-motivated Social Video Producer to bring our mission to life through compelling visual storytelling. As a member of our employee-owned team, this role focuses on conceptualizing and capturing high-quality video content and photography that supports the WBU brand, promotes the hobby of backyard bird feeding, and engages our community. This position develops and produces social media content across all formats, including short-form video, Reels, and still photography. This position also captures video for internal communications, training, and company events, and assists with studio and in-field product photography.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in videography, photography, digital media, or related field; OR 3–5 years of professional content creation/production experience (or equivalent combination).
  • Proven track record of creating social content, especially short-form videos that grow, reach, and attract new audiences.
  • Creative eye for on-brand visual storytelling across formats, with a commitment to tracking industry trends via publications, webinars, or conferences.
  • Technical mastery of studio lighting, modifiers, and on-location natural light.
  • Hands-on proficiency in Premiere Pro & After Effects (editing/color correction), Photoshop, Lightroom & Bridge (photo editing/asset management), and Audition or equivalent (audio post/sync).

Nice To Haves

  • Nature/wildlife photography experience is a plus.
  • Experience using Asana or similar project management software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Digital Marketing Manager to conceptualize and capture short-form video and photo assets for WBU social channels, Marketing Planner campaigns, and Growth Social initiatives within brand standards.
  • Collaborates with Communications and Training to produce videos for franchisee communications (including News from the Nest) and training platforms.
  • Conducts studio product photography and captures on-location photo/video assets for marketing campaigns, social media, and internal use.
  • Tracks social media trends, formats, and platform features to identify creative ways to attract new and younger audiences.
  • Leads technical lighting, audio, and camera setups for shoots while directing on-camera talent to ensure high visual and brand standards.
  • Edits video content—including assembly cuts, color correction, and audio sync—and exports polished assets that align with brand standards.
  • Maintains the FSC videography, photography, and audio equipment library, ensuring all gear is prepped and in optimal working condition.
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships across departments to support company-wide initiatives.
  • Manages projects with a self-starter approach, strong organization, and clear alignment with WBU operational goals.
