About The Position
Prevail Academy is a K–8 school in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, that opened in 2004. The Social Studies Teacher will serve students in grades 6–8, collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet students’ goals and individual needs, and use the school’s curriculum and student data to support academic success. The role includes creating an engaging classroom and participating in professional development and orientation activities. Prevail offers experienced leadership support, athletics, after-school clubs and e-sports, a safe learning environment, personalized development and coaching, and a positive workplace culture.
Requirements
- Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements. NHA will support the teacher through an alternative certification journey.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate professionally with fellow teachers and support staff to meet the goals and individual needs of each student.
- Create, manage, and participate in professional development and orientation activities.
- Create an engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Implement the provided curriculum and curricular resources based on students’ needs.
- Analyze and use student data to inform teaching.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
