About The Position
North Oak Academy, part of the National Heritage Academies network, seeks a Science and Social Studies Teacher for sixth grade. The school uses a character-based approach to inspire academic excellence and creative thinking. Teachers help students apply critical-thinking skills to real-world problems and prepare them for challenges in college, life, and beyond. The teacher will create an engaging classroom, use the school's curriculum and instructional resources to support student learning, analyze student data to inform instruction, and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to address students' goals and individual needs. The role also involves creating, managing, and participating in professional development and orientation activities, along with other duties as assigned. North Oak Academy offers access to its curriculum and instructional tools, a safe learning environment, a Dean support model, and support for alternative certification. The school is located in Durham, North Carolina.
Requirements
- Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements.
