About The Position

West Catholic High School is seeking a full-time Social Studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be Michigan secondary certified, willing to instruct Advanced Placement courses, and integrate Catholic Faith into their lessons. A passion for reading original documents, writing, and hands-on learning is desired, along with a commitment to student growth in a Catholic school environment and lifelong learning. Proficiency in technology integration and a collaborative spirit are also important. This role is within the Diocese of Grand Rapids school system.

Requirements

• Full-time Michigan secondary certification in Social Studies (RX), Social Science (CX), or certification to teach in two subjects, one of which is History
• Proficient with the usage and integration of technology

Nice To Haves

• Preference for a 6-12 grade certifications in Social Studies (RX) , Social Science (CX), or certification to teach in two subjects, one of which is History.
• Willing to instruct Advanced Placement courses
• Understands and incorporates the Catholic Faith into lessons and the classroom setting
• Exhibits a passion for reading(original documents), writing, and hands-on learning
• Champions student growth in a Catholic school environment
