About The Position

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking candidates to fill the position of Social Services Program Consultant 3 (Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Program Specialist) within the Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS)/Child Welfare. This role reports to the Administrative Review Team Manager and is located in Atlanta, Fulton County. The position assists in the monitoring and management of Prevention and Community Support (PCS) programs and contracts, working with the PCS Director and CANP Unit Manager. Responsibilities include contract procurement, development, management, technical assistance, contract compliance, and program monitoring for assigned CANP program contractors. The specialist also provides training and technical assistance to vendors funded by PCS.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Four (4) years of professional job-related experience
One (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role
Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Consultant 2 (SSP041) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

Monitors the programmatic and financial activities of PCS contractors to ensure contract compliance and quality programming based on state and federal guidelines.
Works with the Office of Procurement and Contracts and PCS in developing solicitations and contracts and monitoring vendor contracts for the Section.
Assists in the development, release, and application review of the Request for Proposal or Statement of Need funding opportunity for direct service providers.
Assists the PCS staff in coordinating the logistics for meetings, conferences, webinars, trainings, workshops, or other program activities.
Serves as the PCS representative on collaborative teams or work groups, as assigned by the CANP Unit Manager.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending appropriate conferences, webinars, meetings or reading appropriate literature and applies pertinent new knowledge to the PCS.
