About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children's Services (OCS) is recruiting for full-time Social Services Associate located in Juneau, Alaska. This Specialty Administrative Support Social Services Associate position provides administrative support to the Administrative Officer and Administrative Assistant 2, including assisting with personnel and payroll functions for the OCS Southeast Region. The role involves completing background checks, maintaining the court calendar, and serving as backup for new-hire orientation and maintaining employee records. Additionally, the position assists with procurement, purchasing, inventory management, and One-Card auditing as needed. Supports SSA staff occasionally by helping with routine case monitoring, transportation, gathering supporting information, and preparing basic court documents as assigned. Provides general administrative and facility support to the office and assists Licensing with occasional administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Requires a valid Alaska driver's license.
  • Requires a background check and fingerprinting.
  • One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience in assisting clients, customers, the general public, or other staff in the explanation and application of guidelines, policies, or services.
  • Current automotive insurance must be in place prior to use of a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the State.
  • A child protective history check will be performed per AS 12.62.160 and/or 13 AAC 68.315 including a background and fingerprint check.
  • The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Must have current automotive insurance if using a personal vehicle for work.
  • Must pass a child protective history check, background check, and fingerprint check.
