About The Position

This Social Services Associate (SSA) is responsible for ensuring proper and complete filing of Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) applications for all minor children in state custody and for holding dividend monies in trust. This position notifies all OCS Social Workers and Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) workers when PFD applications are due, follows up with reminder notices, requests hard copy applications (printed from PFD database) for and mails to the remote office locations. The SSA works directly with Revenue PFD Specialists to provide additional information required during investigations and appeals, which requires communication with field workers assigned to cases to ensure accurate information is obtained within deadlines administered by DOR staff. Requirements

  • Valid Alaska driver's license.
  • Current automotive insurance must be in place prior to use of a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the State.
  • Child protective history check will be performed per AS 12.62.160 and/or 13 AAC 68.315 including a background and fingerprint check.
  • One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience in assisting clients, customers, the general public, or other staff in the explanation and application of guidelines, policies, or services.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license (indicated as a special note, but also a requirement).
  • Background check and fingerprinting (indicated as a special note, but also a requirement).
  • Must be an Alaska Resident.
