About The Position

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Digital Engagement for Alumni Affairs, the Social Media Student Assistant will support the development of film projects, social media posts, and general alumni engagement. The ideal candidate is an outgoing, people-person who is not afraid to step in front of the camera if needed. General knowledge of camera operation, audio recording, and/or lighting setups are a plus. This opportunity is open to anyone interested in learning more about video production and social media marketing. All levels of experience are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to those with demo material. Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Summer employment requires pre-registration for the upcoming fall semester.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. (Students in their first semester can work without an official GPA).
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, post, and engage the alumni audience across all Alumni Affairs social media channels
  • Pre-production outreach and research, including cold calls and emails
  • Coordination of projects in production
  • Assist with gear and lighting setup and breakdown
  • Support the general operation of Alumni Affairs when needed
