The Social Media Specialist leads the day-to-day management and growth of the ASU Alumni Association and Young Alumni social media channels across paid and organic platforms. Working closely with the Director of Marketing, this role plans and execute social media content and campaigns that engage alumni audiences, promote programs and events, and strengthen brand awareness. The ideal candidate is a proactive, creative self-starter with strong content creation skills and an understanding of social media trends, audience engagement, and digital storytelling. This individual should be comfortable independently managing content scheduling, platform execution, community engagement, and campaign support while collaborating with colleagues across the organization. This position is in-office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional nights and weekends required for event coverage and content capture. The Social Media Specialist researches and identifies trends in digital media, monitors platform performance and audience engagement, and curates content that increases awareness, participation, and attendance for Alumni Association and Young Alumni programs and events. This role is responsible for drafting, editing, scheduling, and publishing on-brand content across organic and paid social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads, and emerging platforms as appropriate.
