About The Position

This is a student worker position in a Community Service classification, working off-campus with external community service partners. The role involves creating media content, specifically photography and videography, for social media channels to promote Mission Waco programs and events. The assistant will capture photos, create highlight videos, program videos, interviews, and tutorials. This position offers flexible hours, working 10-20 hours per week, and aims to improve the student's knowledge of marketing and social media in the non-profit sector, multitasking abilities, and technical skills in photography and videography.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Reliable transportation is important as this is off-campus employment.
  • Experience in photography and videography.
  • Proficiency in editing with Canva and/or Adobe Premier.
  • Knowledge of social media posting (primarily Facebook and Instagram).
  • Ability to make videos with a DSLR or 4K camera.
  • Flexible

  • Social Media knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in working with external community service partners.
  • Create content for social media channels, including capturing photos and videos.
  • Produce highlight videos, program videos, interviews, and tutorials.
  • Capture photos at Mission Waco Programs and special events.
  • Serve alongside the Director of Communications to promote Mission Waco through photos and videos.
  • Create content for several different facets of Mission Waco by visiting various programs.
