About The Position

This role involves developing, implementing, and managing social media content strategies to align with broadcasting and organizational goals. The position requires creating, editing, scheduling, and publishing engaging content across various platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging digital channels. Collaboration with producers, editors, reporters, and communications teams is essential for promoting broadcast programming, special events, and organizational initiatives. The role also includes managing social media calendars, monitoring trends, and adapting/translating content between English and a target language (Korean). Additionally, the position contributes to program production, editing, and data entry for digital asset management systems, while adhering to VOA standards for productivity, quality, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Fluency in target language (Korean) (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area.
  • Ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned.
  • Ability to meet VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage social media content strategies aligned with broadcasting and organizational goals.
  • Create, edit, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging digital channels.
  • Collaborate with producers, editors, reporters, and communications teams to promote broadcast programming, special events, and organizational initiatives.
  • Manage social media calendars and ensure timely delivery of content to support news, programming, and audience engagement objectives.
  • Monitor social media trends, audience interests, and platform developments to identify opportunities for increased reach and engagement.
  • Adapt and/or translate content produced in English into native language (Korean), as assigned.
  • Version content produced in native language (Korean) into English for distribution, as assigned.
  • Participate in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned.
  • Contribute to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned.
  • Edit and approve copy and content prepared or written by others for broadcast and/or publication for inclusion in his/her assigned stories, as assigned.
  • Contribute finished products meeting standards to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material and static and motion graphics, as assigned.
  • Contribute to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed.
  • Meet VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines.
  • Make suggestions about policy and workflow improvements.
  • Work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Log and conduct data entry and other functions connected with VOA’s digital asset management system.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
