WJAC has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer/Multi-Media Journalist! 6 News is expanding its morning news coverage and looking for a journalist who can produce a compelling newscast, and report live in the field. This is a hybrid role for someone with strong local news judgment, solid writing skills and the ability to recognize the stories viewers need to know about each morning. You will produce a reporter-driven morning newscast, then transition to live reporting for our expanded morning coverage. We are the region’s number one source for local news and are preparing to deliver even more distinctive content across new and expanding broadcasts. We need a journalist who is organized, deadline-driven, creative and comfortable working both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Broadcast producing or live-reporting experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person with strong storytelling instincts and a commitment to local news. Some video editing will be required. If you are ready for a hands-on role that combines producing, reporting and breaking news, we would like to hear from you.
