Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience/internships).
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and basic content creation principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management abilities.
  • Basic experience with social media management tools (e.g.,Sprout Social), and project management tools (e.g., Asana) is a plus.
  • Experience with Canva, Capcut, Frame.io, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools is a bonus.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Will require regular evening or weekend hours for events.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and scheduling content (text, graphics, videos) across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube and emerging platforms.
  • Help the Social Media Manager maintain and update the content calendar in Asana, ensuring alignment with marketing campaigns and brand voice.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather assets, stories, and event details for use in content creation.
  • Manage photography and videography assets in and across internal DAMs and knowledge management systems, ensuring naming conventions are consistent across programs and platforms.
  • Monitor social media accounts daily, responding to messages and comments in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
  • Oversee inboxes and submission workflows for community-driven social media series such as Tulsa News Desk and Tulsa Weekend Update.
  • Support the Social Media Specialist in community management during live events and activations.
  • Collect and organize performance data across platforms to help track engagement, reach, and follower growth.
  • Assist in producing regular performance snapshots to guide content planning and platform strategy.
  • Work closely with the creative team to request and review visual assets.
  • Maintain internal systems for social media organization, including asset folders, approval processes, and posting logs.
  • Stay informed of platform updates and trends to contribute ideas for content formats or approaches.
