About The Position

The United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) is seeking a Social Media and Content Manager for the Office of Cuba Broadcasting in Doral, FL. This role involves developing and implementing social media strategies, creating and publishing engaging content across various platforms, and collaborating with internal teams to promote programming and initiatives. The position also requires adapting and translating content between English and a target language, contributing to program production, and meeting organizational standards for productivity and quality. The USAGM is a global media agency focused on informing, engaging, and connecting people worldwide in support of freedom and democracy, reaching an audience of over 278 million people weekly in over 60 languages.

Requirements

  • Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area.
  • Ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage social media content strategies aligned with broadcasting and organizational goals.
  • Create, edit, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging digital channels.
  • Collaborate with producers, editors, reporters, and communications teams to promote broadcast programming, special events, and organizational initiatives.
  • Manage social media calendars and ensure timely delivery of content to support news, programming, and audience engagement objectives.
  • Monitor social media trends, audience interests, and platform developments to identify opportunities for increased reach and engagement.
  • Adapt and/or translate content produced in English into native language, as assigned.
  • Version content produced in native language into English for distribution, as assigned.
  • Participate in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or TV programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned.
  • Contribute to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned.
  • Edit and approve copy and content prepared or written by others for broadcast and/or publication for inclusion in his/her assigned stories.
  • Contribute finished products meeting standards to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material and static and motion graphics, as assigned.
  • Contribute to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed.
  • Meet VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines.
  • Make suggestions about policy and workflow improvements.
  • Work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Log and conduct data entry and other functions connected with VOA’s digital asset management system.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
