About The Position

Abuse Refuge Org (ARO) is seeking a motivated and organized individual to join their team as a Social Media Administrative Assistant. This is an unpaid volunteer position, currently open to female-identifying individuals, offering a flexible remote work opportunity. The role is ideal for stay-at-home parents, recent graduates, or those looking to gain valuable experience in a virtual environment while supporting ARO's mission to help victims of abuse. Volunteers will have opportunities for cross-training, leadership, mentoring, and professional growth. Requirements

Must be available to volunteer 8-10 hours a week.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, respond the same day to inquiries.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

In EST or a nearby time zone, preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides high-level support and assistance to the Social Media Department leadership.
Receives incoming communications on behalf of senior staff, reviews content, determines importance, and summarizes and/or distributes content to appropriate staff.
Performs department tasks, including editing presentations, reviewing social media videos, and, in some cases editing, maintaining records, reassigning tasks to proper team members for the Social Media Campaign Content Calendar, managing past due tasks, engaging in Slack, etc.
Attends monthly company meeting.
Maintain availability throughout the workweek (Monday–Thursday) to receive and prepare for administrative tasks assigned for the following workday.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Actively engage with our organization's social media platforms by liking, sharing, or commenting on posts to help spread awareness of our mission and initiatives.
