About The Position

Familiar Machines & Magic (FM&M) is seeking a part-time Social Content Creator to produce short-form video and other social content to introduce Familiars, physically embodied AI systems designed for emotionally intelligent relationships, to the world. This contract role is for an individual who is deeply familiar with social media, comfortable both on and off camera, and skilled in creating content that gains reach. The creator will translate the concept of emotionally intelligent Physical AI into engaging video content. This is a hands-on role for a maker who can shoot, edit, and publish content frequently, constantly testing and optimizing for distribution, and who is motivated by both creative output and audience engagement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience creating short-form video that has demonstrably grown an audience or driven reach on social platforms.
  • A portfolio or set of social accounts showcasing both on-camera and faceless video work.
  • Strong editing skills and proficiency with editing tools including Canva, Figma, Photoshop, Edits, CapCut, and Final Cut Pro.
  • A solid understanding of how major platform algorithms reward content and a proven ability to leverage this knowledge to increase reach.
  • Experience in building and maintaining a content calendar optimized for testing and growth.
  • The ability to independently manage the entire video production process from concept to capture, editing, and publishing.
  • An instinct for creating compelling hooks and storytelling that capture audience attention and encourage sharing.
  • Comfort with being on camera.
  • A proactive approach focused on shipping and iterating rather than perfection.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for a new and unfamiliar category and the patience to contribute to its development.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, fast-paced team.
  • Openness to adopting new tools and AI-powered workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Produce a steady volume of short-form video for Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn, including both face-to-camera and faceless formats.
  • Optimize content for algorithmic reach and audience growth while maintaining brand aesthetics.
  • Repurpose existing assets such as prototype footage, investor videos, and B-roll into native, platform-specific content.
  • Create supporting graphics and motion assets using tools like Canva, Figma, and Photoshop.
  • Develop content for consumer channels that begins with emotive storytelling and mission, gradually introducing product specifics.
  • Continuously test hooks, formats, lengths, and sounds, using performance data to inform future content creation.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing lead and copywriter to ensure video content aligns with the brand.
  • Act quickly on reactive moments, such as press hits, podcast releases, notable comments, and trending topics, when timing is critical.
