About The Position

The Social Media Content Creator, part of our PR, Content, Social and Influencer Marketing team, is responsible for creating assets for use primarily in social media marketing (Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube and more. Social media programs may be stand-alone programs within the agency, or they may be part of integrated marketing communications programs (advertising, content marketing, influencer marketing and public relations) requiring the Social Media Content Creator to collaborate with a team, align assets with the specific platform’s best practices and consider the overall look and feel of the brand and any active campaigns. An ideal candidate will excel at producing assets that can live across multiple digital properties in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, interactive design or video production. If degree is outside design categories, candidate must show a proven understanding of graphic design principles and proven skills in editing
  • Presentation of portfolio commensurate with experience
  • 1+ years of professional digital design experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Strong conceptual thinking
  • Proficient in both photography and videography
  • Understanding graphic design principles (typography, color, layout, safe zones, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom and InDesign.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Figma and Monday.com is a plus
  • Knowledge of and some experience with best practices in content accessibility (e.g., Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Adobe color contrast analyzers, captioning tools)
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and set up photography/video equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk and work on location for extended periods when capturing content.
  • Understanding of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X and Pinterest and how visuals are used across the platforms (formats, sizes, minimum/maximum length)
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creating high quality work
  • Positive attitude and willingness to improve your craft
  • Ability to take constructive criticism with ease and grace
  • Simultaneously execute and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
  • Strong organizational skills and proven track record to work across several business functions
  • This position requires occasional travel, typically translating to local and regional client content capture opportunities, as well as industry trade shows.
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States, as it is not the practice of Wray Ward to sponsor individuals for work visas.

Responsibilities

  • Create visual content specifically for use across client social media platforms and other digital properties, including but not limited to email and blogs.
  • Conceptualize, create and edit content in a variety of formats, including images, carousels, infographics, GIFs and .mov/.mp4
  • Continually come up with new and innovative ideas for elevating pre-existing assets to further engage the intended audience
  • Articulate ideas and communicate proactively with the internal teams to determine visual design, messaging strategy and conceptual direction
  • Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced social media environment (turnaround times can vary from a few hours to a few days or a few months)
  • Collaborate with the internal team to plan on-brand visuals that will engage digital audiences and align with the overall strategy
  • Proactively work with internal team to become knowledgeable about the brand, intended audiences, client expectations and project goals
  • Ensure content meets brand guidelines, and establish design consistency across each channel
  • Employ platform best practices to verify designs are optimized, sized and formatted correctly for specific channels and viewing devices
  • Work with the Social Media, Content and Creative teams to plan and shoot new content (photo and/or video) as needed to meet client expectations
  • Ensure work always meets timing and budget parameters and exceeds quality expectations
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media, digital platform and industry trends, applications, technologies, channel updates and best practices
  • Assist with brainstorming and campaign development across the communications ecosystem
  • Communicate in a clear, coherent and professional manner
  • Listen well and solve problems to achieve the most effective outcome for the client, team and agency
  • Develop strong relationships across the agency
  • Represent the team and Wray Ward in a positive manner in all endeavors
