About The Position

This is a part-time, merit hire position for Spring and/or Summer 2027, offering a starting pay rate of $16.32. It involves professional social casework of a training nature within a structured internship program at a Children and Youth Agency. The assignments are designed to provide progressively responsible practical work experiences, applying generally accepted social work principles. The goal is to transform academic knowledge into work skills, enabling the intern to function in the field of social services upon completion. Training and supervision are provided through conferences, detailed instructions, and frequent reviews of work.

Requirements

• Enrollment as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related behavioral science.
• Completion of 75 credits, including completion of 15 credits in one of the listed majors.
• Valid driver’s license and positive driving record at the time of hire.
• Favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances.
• Favorable references.
• Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (or an alternative form of identification if not eligible for a PA driver's license and driving is not an essential function).
