About The Position

This is a part-time, merit hire position for Spring and/or Summer 2027, offering a starting pay rate of $16.32. It is a training-level professional social casework role within a structured internship program at a Children and Youth Agency. The internship is designed to provide progressively responsible practical work experiences, applying social work principles to transform academic knowledge into practical skills. Upon completion, interns will be equipped to function in the field of social services. Training and supervision are provided through conferences, detailed instructions, and frequent work reviews.

Requirements

• Enrollment as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related behavioral science.
• Completion of 75 credits, including completion of 15 credits in one of the listed majors.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a positive driving record at the time of hire.
• Favorable criminal background check, child abuse clearance, and FBI clearance.
• Favorable references.
• Provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (or an alternative form of identification if not eligible for a PA driver's license and driving is not an essential function).
