Met Council is America’s largest Jewish charity dedicated to serving the needy. Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325,000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100% affordable housing at 21 locations, family violence services, Holocaust survivor assistance, geriatric social work, crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 120 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City. The Warehouse Worker will assist Met Council’s food warehouse in its food banking operation. Responsibilities include handling incoming deliveries, pick-ups, creating orders, moving products, unloading vehicles, loading vehicles, assisting drivers on deliveries, and cleaning the warehouse. Specific to this role, the Warehouse Worker will act as the floor lead for Met Council’s Social Care Network Fresh and Nonperishable Pantry program. This position will report to the Special Project Coordinator on all aspects of this role related to the Social Care Network. Hours will be split between general Warehouse responsibilities and Social Care Network responsibilities as needed.
