About The Position

Bellingham Public Schools is seeking a Junior Varsity Girls' Soccer Coach for the 2026-2027 school year, contingent upon town meeting approval. This role involves planning, directing, and supervising all phases of the soccer program in accordance with MIAA, Tri-Valley League, Athletic Department, and School policies. The coach will oversee the skill development of student-athletes, aiming to help each participant reach their maximum potential. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director, in liaison with the High School Principal, and works under the direction of the Varsity Head Coach to ensure a consistent coaching philosophy. The appointment is subject to sufficient participation to support the coaching position. In certain situations, the coach may be required to drive students to athletic events if 14 or fewer student-athletes are traveling.

Requirements

• Dedication to the School, to the Student-Athlete and to the Athletic Program.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the sport and the ability to demonstrate and teach individual skills.
• Ability to motivate the student-athlete to maximum potential.
• Professional in appearance and actions.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a Soccer Coach preferred.
• Certification CPR, First Aid or the equivalent preferred.
• Employment as a member of the teaching staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility as designated by the Athletic Director and Head Coach.
• Assumes responsibility for organizing, coaching and administering in a manner consistent with the total Soccer Program.
• Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
• Follows the policies and procedures in the Athletic Department Staff Handbook.
• Follows sound coaching practices in teaching all skills including aspects of health and safety.
• Assumes responsibility for equipment inventory.
• Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior.
• Provides input and guidance to the Head Coach.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or assigned area including the locker rooms.
