About The Position

Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach for the 26-27 school year, specifically for the Spring Season. This role involves leading the girls' varsity soccer program, developing strategies, instructing student athletes, and coordinating with other coaches and staff.

Requirements

  • Successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
  • Background that includes a high level of soccer knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices in coaching.
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to relate to and instruct student athletes in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.
  • Ability to effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
  • Possess strong organizational, motivational, discipline and fundamental teaching skills.
  • Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.
  • Instruct, coordinate, and direct all varsity assistant coaches, sub-coaches and head coaches 7th thru 12th grade, as applicable.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
  • Direct, construct a program and oversee the program as a whole.
  • Work with other coaches by supporting and encouraging students to participate in other sports.
  • Communicate with players, parents, and other coaches.
  • Contribute to a professional learning team of varsity coaches.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
  • Encourage student participation in the sport.
