Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in SOC operations, help desk security support, incident triage, monitoring, or cyber operations.
Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint alerts, cloud alerts, ticketing tools, and case management processes.
Ability to follow SOPs, maintain accurate records, and escalate time-sensitive security matters.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Successful drug screening.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Nice To Haves

Security+, CySA+, Network+, Microsoft/Azure security, Splunk, Elastic, or equivalent SOC tool certification.

Responsibilities

Supports security monitoring, event triage, alert investigation, case management, incident intake, and first-line response for the client cybersecurity environment.
Helps maintain situational awareness and supports timely detection, escalation, and documentation of cybersecurity events.
Monitor security tools, dashboards, logs, alerts, and event queues for potential incidents.
Conduct initial triage and classification of alerts, suspicious activity, and reported events.
Create, manage, and update incident cases in approved Government ticketing systems.
Escalate events requiring Tier 2-3 investigation, forensic support, policy guidance, or stakeholder action.
Support collection of relevant logs, screenshots, alerts, indicators, and case notes.
Identify trends in alerts, recurring event types, and operational gaps.
Follow approved SOPs for incident detection, triage, reporting, and escalation.
