Yellowstone Club’s Snowsports Department is currently seeking a Snowsports Assistant Manager – Events & Race Operations for the Winter 2026/2027 season. Position Summary The Snowsports Assistant Manager – Events & Race Operations is responsible for the leadership, planning, and execution of all on-snow events and race programming. This role oversees On-Snow Events and Race Crew Operations, ensuring high-quality venue setup, safe and consistent race surfaces, and exceptional member and guest experiences. In addition, this role supports the broader Snowsports operation through leadership of Supervisors and Instructors, staffing coordination, training support, and daily operational execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in ski racing, race operations or event management
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and operations
  • Expert skiing ability required
  • Experience with racecourse setup, event venues, or terrain-based events (Freeride, Slopestyle)
  • Knowledge of course setting techniques, race formats, and safety standards
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children and adults in a teaching or coaching environment preferred
  • Familiarity with PSIA standards, teaching methodologies, and skier development concepts
  • PSIA Level 1 or US Ski & Snowboard Alpine Level 100 preferred
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, setup, maintenance, and teardown of all event venues including Freeride, Slopestyle, Racecourse, and special events
  • Ensure venues are prepared to the highest standard with a focus on safety, quality, and guest experience
  • Coordinate with internal departments to execute seamless events
  • Anticipate operational needs, weather impacts, and staffing requirements to ensure successful outcomes
  • Maintain safe venue conditions throughout each event day
  • Lead all race programming including daily races, NASTAR, member races, and special competitions
  • Oversee course setting, maintenance, and teardown including gates, timing systems, signage, and netting
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality race surfaces through course slipping and inspection
  • Manage race equipment inventory, organization, and readiness
  • Train, schedule, and develop Race Crew and Event staff
  • Coordinate special race training with instructors and guests
  • Ensure all race operations reflect the skill level and experience of participants on a given day
  • Assist the Snowsports Manager in staffing, hiring, training, and operational planning
  • Lead and support Snowsports Supervisors in daily operations, scheduling, and lesson assignments
  • Leading morning operational meetings for race and event crew
  • Support instructors in delivering safe, engaging, and professional lessons aligned with Snowsports standards
  • Maintain strong communication with Snowsports leadership, instructors, reservations, and membership
  • Recruit, train, and develop Race Crew and Events staff
  • Foster a professional, organized, and team-oriented culture
  • Provide clear expectations, feedback, and ongoing coaching
  • Lead by example with professionalism, communication, and attention to detail
  • Support training initiatives including technical skills, safety, and guest service
  • Deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and participants of all ages
  • Act as a primary on-snow point of contact during events and races
  • Resolve issues proactively and professionally
  • Ensure all programming reflects Yellowstone Club’s high standards
  • Coordinate with Reservations and Outdoor Pursuits leadership to answer member questions and concerns
